Early Learning

KTC Early Learning

KTC Early Learning is nestled within the grounds of Kesser Torah College. We serve the Jewish Community and follow an integrated General and Jewish Studies curriculum.

The proverb it takes a village to raise a child encapsulates our approach with children. KTC is an entire community of different people interacting with children in order for them to learn, experience and grow in a safe environment.

KTC early learning is an integral part of the school. This integration provides your child with an advantage as it allows them to form a connection to school from a very young age. This continuum of learning and sense of belonging is a unique feature of the school. Research tells us very clearly that when you belong you become.

Jewish Life

In Kesser Torah Early Learning, Judaism is not a subject, it is a way of life! Jewish life is infused throughout our entire program and our aim is to imbue every child who walks through our doors with a sense of pride in their identity. Our integrated program is designed to surround our children with the warmth, beauty and passion of Torah and Yiddishkeit. We have an amazing team of Morahs who create this warm and exciting environment.

Every day is full of rich Jewish experiences including Davening, song, Jewish Holiday experiences, and Jewish Literacy programs. We lay the foundations for developing good Middos, a love for Torah, Mitzvos, Eretz Yisroel and the Jewish people.

Our Program

We work in collaboration with our children, families, teachers, educators and community to support and encourage children on their learning journey.

We see children as capable and believe in a whole child approach to learning. The vehicle for learning is a play-based curriculum designed by experienced accredited teachers. The teachers engage in reflective practice to ensure that the program challenges and supports the child to:

  • Develop and sustain a curiosity about learning.
  • Develop critical thinking skills and apply these to existing and new scenarios.
  • Grow in their autonomy and understanding of themselves.
  • Develop empathy for others in an atmosphere of trust and respect.
  • Develop caring, respectful relationships.
  • Strengthen their Jewish core values through a nurturing environment.
  • Embrace multilingualism.

We encourage children to:

  • Act as investigators, explorers, problem solvers and creators.
  • Ask questions and listen to others; and develop their own views on different ideas and concepts.
  • Develop a spirit of cooperation and a caring and responsible attitude towards others.
Whole Child Approach

The Whole Child Approach ensures each child:

  • Is healthy, learns about and practicing a healthy lifestyle.
  • Learns in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe.
  • Is actively engaged in learning and is connected to KTC and the community.
  • Has access to individualized learning and is supported by an experienced, qualified, nurturing and caring team.
  • Is challenged cognitively and prepared for future success in a changing world.
Curriculum Design

KTC is committed to upholding the National Quality Framework, which drives quality education and care in Australia. We strive to build mutual respectful relationships with children, families and members of the community.

We are guided by the Australian Early Years Learning Framework; and offer an innovative play-based curriculum.

The teachers develop the educational program by:

  • Identifying your child’s strengths and interests through quality observations.
  • Building strong relationships and collaborating with families and communities.
  • Planning experiences, designing the environment to build on your child’s skills, knowledge and understanding of the world.
  • Critically reflecting on, evaluating and documenting the learning outcomes for your child to inform future planning.
