Assistant Curriculum Leader – Science, High School (Full-Time)

Applications are invited from a passionate, motivated and experienced High School Science Teachers, specialising in Physics & Chemistry.  Our High School has a 31 face-to-face period allocation per week, and it is expected that you will have a teaching load not exceeding 29 periods per week.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic classroom teacher, a collaborative practitioner and ready to contribute to the Science Department.

The position reports to the Head of General Studies in the Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools and would suit an experienced Teacher with a desire to contribute to efficient operations in the High School General Studies academic programme.

Science Teacher – Physics or Chemistry (Part-time likely 0.8, with some experience teaching Stage 6, 4.5 days)

Applications are invited from a passionate, motivated and experienced Science Teachers for part-time (0.8 FTE) work in 2019.  Ideally, the candidate will have experience and specialisation in teaching Physics & Chemistry.  The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic classroom teacher, a collaborative practitioner and ready to contribute to the Science Department.

He/she will have a deep understanding of their subject with demonstrated success in teaching all levels of Year 7-12 classrooms.

The successful applicant will be able to inspire students to learn by differentiating the curriculum, using classroom strategies which encourage students to be independent and confident learners.

Design & Technology Teacher, High School – Part time (approx. 6.5 FTE / 3.5 days)
(Stage 4 Technology Mandatory, Stage 5 and 6 Design & Technology)

We are seeking applications from an interested and appropriately qualified and experienced teacher to fill a 0.65 FTE (part-time) D&T Teacher.  Preference would be given to applicants with experience teaching Robotics, although this is not essential.

You should be a passionate, motivated and experienced High School Teacher, with demonstrated success in secondary teaching at all levels.

The successful applicant will be able to inspire students to learn and support them in their ongoing study.

Classroom Aide to Support Students with a Medical Condition

We are seeking a caring and committed applicant to work as a full-time classroom aide alongside students who require extra care due to a medical condition.

The role requirements:

  • Support students with a medical condition to manage their condition alongside their schooling requirements
  • Work effectively with student, parents, classroom teacher and other staff to support the student
  • Work during normal school hours from 8.20am to 3.30pm
  • Some off-site travel and occasional additional hours (outside of school hours) may be required for excursions and extra-curricular activities
  • Responsibility to implement medical management plan in conjunction with the student, parents and staff
  • Some clinical support may be needed.

Essential / desirable requirements, skills and qualifications

  • The candidate should have a gentle and caring personality.  The medical condition is onerous for the student and a compassionate nature will be appreciated.
  • On-the-job training will be provided – knowledge or experience with diabetes would be beneficial
  • Experience working in a classroom environment or with children
  • Working with Children Check clearance and adherence to relevant school policies will be required.
  • Senior First Aid.

The position may suit a retired nurse or school teacher or university student.

After School Care Role

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to run the KTC After School Care program in 2019.

The role requirements:

  • Supervision of K-6 students
  • Planning and facilitating craft, sporting and homework activities
  • Some administration tasks
  • Preparation of afternoon tea
  • Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 3.00pm to 5.30pm

Essential requirements:

  • A valid Working With Children Check (NSW)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Experience working with School aged children
  • The ability to work within our school ethos

High School Teachers – Casual Pool

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic classroom teacher, a collaborative practitioner and be ready to support the school across a range of subjects, as required.  You should be a passionate, motivated and experienced High School Teacher, with demonstrated success in secondary teaching at all levels.

The successful applicant will be able to inspire students to learn and support them in their ongoing study, in their regular teacher’s absence.
