Primary School


K-6 Physical Education Teacher (Part-Time) – Maternity Leave 12 month position

Applications are invited from passionate, motivated and experienced Primary School Teachers with experience in teaching the PDHPE Syllabus, particularly Physical Education, for a part time (2 days per week), Maternity relief position commencing in early Term 3, 2021, concluding at the end of the academic year.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic classroom teacher, a collaborative practitioner and will be able to inspire students to be involved in Physical Education.

Key selection criteria:

  • demonstrate an understanding of how students learn and effective classroom teaching strategies
  • excellent behaviour management skills
  • a clear understanding of how children learn and can differentiate the curriculum to cater for individual needs
  • passionate about sport and physical activity
  • capacity to work as a team with colleagues and leaders to continually improve teaching and learning
  • employ effective strategies for managing student expectations and wellbeing as well as an ability to develop positive partnerships with College families
  • willingness to be involved in the College’s broad co-curricular program
  • the willingness to develop an understanding of and support our Jewish ethos
  • teacher qualifications approved by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and a current (employee) WWCC

Year 1 Class Teacher – Maternity Leave 12 month position

Mathematics – Part-Time, Maternity Relief

We are looking to employ a part-time, Maternity Relief, High School Maths Teacher, to commence in Term 2 2021, i.e. 13 April 2021.

Initially, the position will instruct Years 7, 8 and 9 Mathematics, over three days (0.41FTE) with a possibility of expansion in both days and hours.

Experience and a proven track record teaching Stage 6 Mathematics (Advanced, Extension 1 and 2) would be highly regarded.

School Psychologist (Maternity Relief – May to December 2021

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced and inspiring School Psychologist or qualified Counsellor for a full-time Maternity Relief position.  The ideal candidate will have had successful experience, a strong knowledge of the issues facing children and young people today, and a passion for working with students to ensure the best possible outcomes.  The position will commence from 24 May 2021 and conclude at the end of the 2021 academic year, however, is subject to change by mutual agreement.  It is anticipated that a handover will be required with the incumbent both before the role commences, and at its conclusion, to ensure continuity of care.

Role requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting children and adolescents (experience in working with High School and Primary School children is essential)
  • Ability to assess the emotional and psychological wellbeing and needs of students using psychological and/or educational assessments, rating scales and observation where appropriate
  • Making recommendations and initiating ongoing therapy and other interventions for individuals and groups
  • Experience in dealing with mental health issues
  • Writing reports and recommendations
  • Referral and liaison with outside agencies and professionals
  • Proactively devising, coordinating and facilitating educational programmes that address whole school issues; year-specific issues or concerns
  • Qualified to inform school policy based on training, experience and expertise
  • Appropriate Professional Membership / Registration
  • Qualification in Psychology highly desirable, but not essential.

 

The successful candidate will report to the College Principal but also work closely, and liaise with, the Senior Management Team and Welfare Team.

Teacher’s Aide

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Aide to work predominantly in our Year 3 Classrooms.   The role is part-time, 17 hours per week, term time only – to start 12 April 2021 until the end of the 2021 academic year (December).

Specific duties / responsibilities:

  • Support students in the classroom  to achieve their learning and social goals
  • Work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Some planning and organisation of small goup activities
  • Preparation of resources
  • Working during normal school hours
  • Some off-site travel may be required for excursions and extra-curricular activities

Essential / desirable requirements, skills and qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction and prioritise
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the quality of assigned work
  • Experience working in a classroom environment or with children
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC), NSW, ‘Employee’ (not Volunteer)
  • Adherence to relevant school policies and ethos will be required
  • Certificate III in Education Support would be advantageous.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic classroom teacher, a collaborative practitioner and be ready to support the school across a range of subjects, as required.  You should be a passionate, motivated and experienced High School / Primary School Teacher, with demonstrated success in secondary / primary teaching at all levels.

The successful applicant will be able to inspire students to learn and support them in their ongoing study, in their regular teacher’s absence.
